Italian MotoGP rider Marco Bezzecchi, a member of the VR46 Academy, has credited his mentor Valentino Rossi for helping him overcome the persistent clutch issues that have plagued him throughout his career.
Bezzecchi, who has been struggling with these problems since his early days in MotoGP, found solace and guidance in the wisdom of his mentor, Rossi.
With Rossi’s and expertise, Bezzecchi has been able to address the long-standing issues, allowing him to perform at his best on the track.
“At the beginning, I was really focused on the start. It’s a part of the race that is always crucial right now but it’s also a part where normally I struggle.” Bezzecchi said.
“The clutch of our bike is really tough and seems like I’m a little bit stupid and I can’t be very good every time. So yeah, I was a bit nervous for this.”
“Vale helped me a lot through this part of the weekend. He gave me a lot of advice and fortunately today I made a very good one and I was there in the beginning.” Bezzecchi added.
Through their collaboration, Bezzecchi and Rossi were able to fine-tune the clutch settings to suit Bezzecchi’s riding style and preferences.
Together, they methodically tested different configurations until they found the one that provided the best results.
The impact of this breakthrough was evident in Bezzecchi’s performance during recent races. With the clutch issues resolved, Bezzecchi demonstrated improved starts and greater consistency, resulting in better finishes and increased confidence.
