It is latest today that Gianni Infantino has denied his promise of US to hold 2026 World Cup. According to him, now the country who wins the election will be given the chance to organize FIFA World Cup 2026. Sunil Gulati, the head of US Soccer Federation made his vote switched to Infantino during the second round of voting held on Friday. The Swiss said, “I spoke with many delegates… trying to tell them that they should vote for football and for me”.
27 extra votes were picked by Uefa General Secretary Infantino during the voting’s second round. On Friday, Gulati said, “We told Gianni that we would Prince Ali but also gave him the assurance that when it mattered we would be with him.”
Bidding processes for the 2026 World Cup were postponed in the summer in the midst of a debasement crisis that has immersed Fifa since last May.
