This week of Champion League saw some of the teams getting through and some are still held and are in wait of their fate to be known by last match of this stage. We will start off by discussing the matches played on 26 November.
In group A Athletico Madrid defeated OlympiakOs by 4-0. From the start of the game, Spanish side had their grip on the ball. Raul Garcia opened the score card by sending ball behind the net in 9th minute. Afterwards a hat trick was done by Mandzukic in 38th, 62 and 65th minute and was later substituted.
The win has made through the last year’s runner up of UEFA to last 16. The other team to Atl Madrid is still uncertain by this week s game. The defeat to Olympiakos has given another chance to Juventus who won over Malmao FF by 2-0. Now the next game could be tough for Italian side as they will face group leaders. And Olympiakos will face Malmo FF which could be easily win but still can’t say anything before time.as it is UEFA and anything is expected even at the least. But if both teams win their games each then it would be Juventus to go ahead.
In group B, the one reason to follow its fixtures is because of the presence of my favorite side, Liverpool. Although Benson Rodger s boys are struggling real hard not even in European Championship but in their home league too but this week s game has ignited new hopes for the team. Real Madrid hasn’t lost a game and stood on top with 15 points from five games. FC Basel lost to Spanish giants had kept them held from going to last stages. Liverpool draw to Ludo Razgad by 2-2 makes them third with 4 points from 5 games. Now who is going to make through from this group will be known from next week match between Liverpool and FC Basel. Let’s pray the best team wins, even if it’s not the Reds. Pundits have given their consent with London side, now wait till 9th December.
In Group C, Zeniths St has downed Benfica by 1-0. And Bayer Levkn was held by Monaco. No one from this group has stepped ahead yet. As Bayer leads with 9 points. Monaco with 8 and Zenit with 7 follows. Benfica is unlucky this year. They will face Bayer in last match. And Zenit will play against Monaco. Tables could be turned if Benfica show some miracle game.
In Group D, Arsenal and Bor Dortmund both has made to last 16s. Wenger’s side downed Dortmund by 2-0. Even the loss didn’t hurt Jurgen Klopp side. In other game Anderlecht stopped Galatasaray from coming near the win
