Tito Rabat its that his future in MotoGP is rather uncertain, but has decided to live the last part of the current season to the fullest because it is the best solution, if there is one – for the future.
According to reports, Valentino Rossi half-brother Luca Marini, will step up to MotoGP next year, taking Rabat’s place at Avintia despite the 31-year-old rider having a contract in place for 2021.
“There are two ways of looking at this. One is to say yes, it is true that I have been a bit tense, but not now if not in latest races. There comes a point when your head says, ‘You have four races left so take advantage, because the only things we have clear is what’s going on in the present, and the future we never know’.” Rabat said.
“I know absolutely nothing of 2021, but I have to take advantage of the present because it is the best solution – if there is one – for the future. It is not worth doing anything else. It’s like that. I have to give myself 100%, be focused and get in the way of the other drivers until the end.” Rabat added.
Rabat, currently is sit in 21st in the world championship, he has been dragging this situation out for several weeks. He does not doubt that he has so far.
The Spaniard now intends to move forward. However, he will no longer be the team leader, since the role will likely be taken on by Johann Zarco. But, as he said during the 2020 Reale Avintia Racing presentation, he is delighted with the presence of this new teammate.
“The arrival of Johann in the team is very good news for us because he is someone who fights to win races in MotoGP. He made poles and podiums. For me, having it with me in the box is a good thing to motivate me and be able to take advantage of everything.” Rabat said.
If Rabat cannot stay in MotoGP, it is believed he could make the transition to World Superbikes in 2021 as a Ducati satellite Avintia rider.
