ONIC PH had a huge success in Indonesia by dominating the ESL Snapdragon Mobile Masters 2025 by defeating RRQ Hoshi with a landslide score of 4-1, Sunday (13/4) evening at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta.
The final score of the match that looked striking actually did not really describe how fierce the battle between the two teams was in each game and this was acknowledged by the two ONIC PH stars K1ngkong and Brusko. The match between ONIC PH and RRQ was very tight in every game, with both teams putting pressure on each other from the start.
ONIC PH opened the victory through a great comeback in the first game but RRQ managed to equalize in the second game. Then, ONIC PH, the Philippine MLBB giant, managed to emerge as champions after securing the next three games in a row thanks to a series of clever maneuvers.
“We were actually in a desperate position in the last game, but the team decided to reset to defend against RRQ’s attacks as much as possible until they got all the capital (items and moments) to turn things around,” said K1ngkong after the match.
The same thing was acknowledged by Brusko who said that RRQ’s game was difficult to penetrate and they had to do something special to defeat the King of Kings.
“RRQ is a good team, difficult to play against. Almost all matches are 50:50. The only way we can win is by outplaying RRQ at certain angles in certain ways,” he said.
From the statements of the two top ONIC PH stars, we can take at least three important keys to their victory over RRQ, namely:
Solid defense
In the match, RRQ was often able to show dominance over their opponents, but ONIC PH’s defense was so solid that at the right moment they were able to launch a deadly counterattack.
Outplay at the right time
ONIC PH was always patient in looking for gaps and managed to take advantage of every opportunity to change the course of the match in crucial teamfights.
Compact in decision making
K1ngkong emphasized the importance of patience and teamwork when they faced RRQ’s pressure.
With this victory, ONIC PH returned from Indonesia with a prize of U$D80,000 while RRQ Hoshi had to be satisfied with a share of U$D40,000. ESL Snapdragon Mobile Masters itself provides a charming prize pool of U$D200,000.
