Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim itted that the squad he is currently handling is the worst team in the history of the club.
The defeat to Brighton was Manchester United’s 10th defeat this season in the Premier League. United have now suffered four defeats at home from the last six matches since Erik Ten Hag was replaced by Ruben Amorim.
The negative result also recorded another bad record. This is the first time since the 1894-94 season that United have lost six of 12 matches at home in one season.
For the record, at that time United were still using their old name. At that time the Red Devils were recorded as Newton Heath.
After the match, Ruben Amorim spoke frankly about the Manchester United squad. He was not ashamed to it that the current MU squad is indeed rotten.
He was also not ashamed to it that his current team is the worst team in the history of Man United. Amorim then hopes that the Red Devils can quickly recover from this negative episode.
“I’m not naive. We are probably the worst team in the history of Manchester United. We have to it that and change it,” Amorim was quoted as saying by Goal.
“In 10 games in the Premier League, we won three, I know that. Imagine this for Man United fans, imagine this for me,” he said.
“You get a new manager who has lost more than the previous manager. Imagine that. We have to survive in this moment. I know that,” Amorim exclaimed.
