Liverpool vs Everton: Divock Origi Late Winner Heroics 594c5h

Liverpool emerged as the 2018/19 Premier League I Merseyside Derby winner. Goals at the end of injury time determine Liverpool’s victory over Everton 1-0. Located at Anfield in a match that was completed on Monday (12/03/2018), substitute Divock Origi became a hero of Liverpool. Origi scored the winner goal after taking advantage of Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford’s mistake.

Divock Origi only played about 10 minutes on the field. But he had many things that could make him the main character in Liverpool’s match against Everton in the Premier League. After entering the super sub Daniel Sturridge to replace Mohamed Salah, Juergen Klopp saw Liverpool still lacking in power in the attacking line. That’s why Klopp decided to enter Origi to replace Roberto Firmino who was less effective in the match.

Origi then starts the action impressively. His movement on the left side of the Everton defense was quite troublesome and produced a corner. From the corner soccer scheme, Origi had the opportunity to kick the ball from a distance of less than three meters. But Origi’s hard kick instead made the ball hit the crossbar.

If the score 0-0 lasts until the end of the match, then the moment of Origi’s failure will be one of the highlights because you could say it was the best opportunity that Liverpool got in the match.

However, Origi’s persistence in continuing to fight until the end of the match paid off. When injury time had entered the sixth minute, Virgil van Dijk released a speculative kick from outside the penalty box which made the ball bounce upwards. not sharply, even though it led to the goal.

Van Dijk himself was seen turning around as a sign of disappointment over the kick. But it turned out the ball hit the bar, also caused by Jordan Pickford mistake, and instead returned to the field. Origi still seems determined to chase the ball and it works. He was not guarded in front of goal and easily struck the ball into the goal with a header.

“I know that there will be a wild ball and then I just play my instincts. I really want to help the team and give everything I can.”

“Thank God that the ball came before me,” said Origi as quoted from the official Liverpool websie.

Origi himself considers the winning goal not considered as luck only.

“Everybody did pressing and we continued to play with our awareness that we could win this fight. The goal at the end of the match gave us a great feeling. I was very happy,” Origi said.
