Liverpool managed to secure the 2024/2025 Premier League title after a landslide victory over Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 in the 34th week of the Premier League, Sunday (27/4/2025).
Competing at Anfield Stadium, Liverpool appeared confident to win even though they only needed one point to establish themselves as champions.
Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, and Cody Gakpo actively pressed Tottenham’s defense in the first 10 minutes. However, it was Tottenham who managed to score the first goal.
Liverpool’s goal was actually conceded in the 12th minute through Dominic Solanke’s header utilizing James Maddison’s corner kick.
Four minutes later, Liverpool managed to score a reply goal through Luis Diaz’s tap-in who successfully continued Dominik Szoboszlai’s pull . The score was tied 1-1.
In the 24th minute, Liverpool turned the lead around through Alexis Mac Allister’s hard shot from the edge of the penalty box. The Reds made a comeback and led the match with a score of 2-1.
Cody Gakpo then successfully increased Liverpool’s lead to 3-1 in the 34th minute. The Dutch midfielder’s shot was able to through the gap between Tottenham players who were clustered in the penalty box.
Arne Slot’s squad continued to press hard, but there were no additional goals until the first half ended. Liverpool were leading 3-1 until the first half ended.
