Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli does not seem to want to lose to Chelsea for the transfer of Victor Osimhen. They reportedly sent their representatives to Naples to complete this transfer.
Ahead of the closing of the transfer window, Napoli is trying to sell Osimhen. The striker is not included in Antonio Conte’s plans for the 2024/2025 season.
Currently, there are two clubs that are reportedly trying to complete the transfer of the striker. They are Chelsea and Al Ahli who are reportedly very keen on the Nigerian national team striker.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Al Ahli does not want to lose to Chelsea for this transfer. They reportedly sent their representatives to Italy to complete this transfer.
According to Romano’s report, Al Ahli representatives came to Italy not to meet Napoli. But to meet directly with Osimhen.
They reportedly negotiated directly with the striker regarding his contract. They tried to convince the striker to choose them over Chelsea.
According to the report, Al Ahli complied with Osimhen’s request that his contract contain a release clause that could be activated in the next few years.
Romano also said that at the club level, Napoli and Al Ahli have actually finished. They have reached an agreement regarding the striker’s transfer.
The Saudi Arabian club is reported to be paying around 65 million Euros for Osimhen’s transfer. This figure could still increase with a number of additional add-ons clauses.
So, currently, Al Ahli’s main task is to convince Osimhen to be part of their team next season.
Osimhen himself is reported to have not only spoken to Al Ahli regarding his transfer.
He is also reported to be actively communicating with Chelsea where he reportedly prefers to The Blues this summer.
According to reports, Chelsea have made an official approach to Osimhen’s agent.
They have expressed their interest in the Nigerian national team striker. They have also expressed their project for the striker.
The talks are still in the early stages. Chelsea hope they can convince Osimhen to their team.
However, the same report claims that Osimhen must be willing to make sacrifices if he wants to Chelsea.
This is because Chelsea’s salary slot in the 2024/2025 season is running low. So they cannot pay a fantastic salary to bring in Osimhen.
The striker is even reported to have to be willing to cut his salary if he is interested in becoming a Blues player next season.
According to the news circulating, Chelsea’s chances of recruiting Osimhen this summer are increasingly wide open.
The striker, who was initially valued at 120 million Euros, is now reportedly going to be released by Napoli for around 60-70 million Euros.
