Drama for Juventus in Champion League 2018 5a1k17

Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri, claimed to remain satisfied even though his team lost 1-2 of Young Boys on Matchday 6 of the Champions League Group H at Stade de Suisse, Bern, Wednesday (12/12/2018). The Bianconeri, nicknamed for Juventus, lost their unbeatable away record after 26 competitive matches. However, Juventus still qualified for the Champion league round 16 as group winner. “We achieved our goal by winning the group, even when everything seemed wrong,” Allegri told Rai Sport. “We missed so many chances and gave penalty for the opponent. So, in the end we lost the game,” he said.

In the match, Allegri put Paulo Dybala on the substitute seat at the beginning, before finally Dybala was in and scored after 8-minutes in the field. Dybala also scored the equalizing goal. However, his goal was disallowed because Cristiano Ronaldo was in an offside position. Allegri said he did not question the referee’s decision. He considered the goal was indeed invalid. “Everything did not go our way, but we still won the group and therefore I thank the players,” Allegri said.

In this game, Cristiano Ronaldo set a bad record. Quoting Squawka, this is the first time Ronaldo has failed to score many goals during the group phase since the 2008-2009 season. During the group phase, Ronaldo recorded only one goal, which was when he lost 1-2 to Manchester United at the Allianz Stadium on 8 November.
However, Ronaldo claimed he was not too worried. “Today, I can score a few goals easily. However, this is football. We only need to focus on the next match,” Ronaldo was quoted from the UEFA website.

On the other hand, Veteran forward Guillaume Hoarau starred for Young Boys with goals in the 30th and 68th minutes.
Despite losing, in the final standings, Juventus still lead the standings with 12 points, followed by Man United with 10 points in Group H. The other teams who moved to round 16 are Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid (Group A), Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur (Group B), Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool (Group C), FC Porto and Schalke 04 (Group D), Bayern Muenchen and Ajax Amsterdam (Group E), Manchester City and Lyon (Group F), Real Madrid and AS Roma (Group G).
