Liverpool coach Arne Slot has praised Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola ahead of the two clubs’ Premier League meeting.
Liverpool will host Manchester City in a Premier League match at Anfield Stadium on Sunday (1/12/2024).
The Reds are in a positive trend because they have never been defeated in the last 15 consecutive matches.
Liverpool have even recorded wins in the last six matches in a row. On the other hand, Manchester City are in a slump because they have never won in the last six matches in a row. The Cityzens have to accept 5 defeats and 1 draw.
In their last match, Man City were also unlucky because they drew 3-3 against Feyenoord after leading 3-0 in the Champions League. Even though their opponents are not in good shape, Liverpool coach Arne Slot is reluctant to underestimate Man City, coached by Pep Guardiola.
According to him, Manchester City remains a very good team because it is coached by Pep Guardiola who is the best coach in the world.
“They are still a very good team. One of the reasons why I consider Pep Guardiola the best coach in the world is because he always has a solution,” said Arne Slot as quoted by Sky Sports.
“The problem now may be that Rodri is absent, but we all know, at least in my opinion, he will find [a solution] and their performance will return, hopefully after Sunday,” added Arne Slot.
Arne Slot also said that Guardiola created several new playing formations in modern football.
“He [Guardiola] was the one who started playing with an inverted wing back, then he was the first to play a center back as a number 6. I would not be surprised if he came up with other ideas that had never been thought of before to make his team stronger. That is the reason why he inspires many coaches around the world,” said Arne Slot.
