English Premier League champions Liverpool could only draw against Crystal Palace in the 38th week of the 2024/2025 Premier League at Anfield, Sunday (25/05/2025).
Liverpool did dominate possession. However, they had a hard time breaking down Palace’s layered defense.
The Reds did play with 10 players after Ryan Gravenberch was sent off, but they were able to score through Mohamed Salah. Meanwhile, Palace’s goal was scored by Ismaila Sarr.
This result saw Liverpool end the season with a collection of 84 points from 38 matches. Meanwhile, Palace collected 53 points and finished in 12th place in the final standings of the 2024/2025 Premier League.
Liverpool tried to put pressure on Crystal Palace’s defense from the start. However, Palace actually scored first.
In the ninth minute, Ismaila Sarr broke through Alisson’s goal with a shot from inside the penalty box. He took advantage of mistakes from Bradley and Van Dijk. 1-0.
Liverpool then tried to put pressure on Palace’s defense. However, they had difficulty breaking down The Eagles’ defense, even to simply create opportunities.

In the 75th minute, Liverpool almost scored a goal through Jota’s shot from inside the penalty box, after receiving a short from Gakpo. However, the ball still hit the right goalpost.
In the 85th minute, the Anfield crowd finally cheered. Liverpool’s attack managed to produce a goal. Salah fired a shot from the middle of the penalty box, after receiving a header from Gakpo. 1-1!
In the 90+4 minute, Palace almost scored a goal from Nketiah. He had the opportunity to shoot from inside the penalty box freely. Unfortunately, his shot was not strong enough and the ball was easily secured by Alisson.
In the end, no additional goals were scored. The Liverpool vs Crystal Palace duel ended in a 1-1 draw.
