Marc Marquez revealed the reason for his fall in the 2025 Spanish MotoGP which resulted in him failing to reach the podium at the Jerez Circuit, Sunday (27/4).
Marquez, who started from second position in the race, failed to reach the podium for the first time this season after finishing 12th. In the 2025 American MotoGP, Marquez also failed to reach the podium due to an accident.
One of the reasons for Marquez’s failure in the Spanish MotoGP was an accident at turn eight. Marquez slipped into the gravel and continued the race, but finished outside the top 10.
The six time MotoGP world champion has outlined a number of theories as to why he crashed in Jerez.
“It’s possible, I didn’t check the data, but maybe the angle was one degree bigger,” Marquez said.
“I was behind two riders and maybe it was the first time in the weekend I was behind a rider, and maybe the bike changed a little bit and I didn’t think about it,” Marquez added.
Previously, Marquez was surprised to experience a lowside in the 2025 Spanish MotoGP while competing for victory.
“It was a mistake and we need to learn from it and try to avoid it in the future if we want to fight for the championship,” said Marquez.
Even so, The Baby Alien considered the mistake in the Spanish MotoGP different from what happened at the Austin Circuit.
“We had a lot of speed, but again. In Austin I understood why I crashed, but today I don’t understand,” Marquez said.
“I need to analyze it, because I didn’t push, I rode like I did in the first race behind them because I knew that the second part of the race was my strength,” Marquez continued.
In addition to Marquez, Ducati racer sco Bagnaia was upset because he failed to overtake Fabio Quartararo at the 2025 Spanish MotoGP at the Jerez Circuit.
Bagnaia, who started from third position, was not happy with the results of the race even though he won the third podium. The reason is, the Italian racer could not move to second position because he was always behind Quartararo.
