RRQ Hoshi finally had to taste its first defeat in MPL Indonesia Season 15 after being defeated by Bigetron Esports with a landslide score of 2-0 in the match on Sunday (20/4) evening.
The “King of Kings” previously appeared very convincing by sweeping up wins in the first three weeks of the competition. The positive trend continued at the beginning of the fourth week when RRQ managed to defeat their eternal rival, EVOS Legends, with a score of 2-1 in a match titled the Classic Derbi.
However, RRQ’s solid performance had to stop in the closing match of the fourth week. Moreno and his friends from Bigetron Esports appeared sharp and succeeded in forcing RRQ to submit without reply.
RRQ tactician Hoshi Khezcute itted that he was not too bothered by this minor result. “I feel normal,” said Khezcute when interviewed after the match.
Regarding the 2-0 defeat, Khezcute itted that his team made several mistakes. “If you look at the first game, there was doubt and we were not committed. In the second game, thumbs up for Bigetron. They played very well,” he explained.
Bigetron itself appeared fierce after the Eid holiday and recorded a clean victory and according to Khezcute his team was able to learn a very valuable lesson. “BTR has a lot of pocket strats and cheese strats. Hopefully not only RRQ, but other teams can also learn a lesson, so everyone can be happy,” added Khezcute.
Despite the defeat, the coach considered this result to be a trigger for the team’s enthusiasm. “In my personal opinion, this defeat is good so that we don’t become arrogant. There are many lessons that can be learned, because we also know more about the mapping and playstyle of other teams.”
Despite suffering their first defeat of the season, RRQ Hoshi is still perched at the top of the MPL ID S15 standings. Next week, RRQ will only face one match against Dewa United, Saturday (26/4) noon.
