Cristiano Ronaldo is again in a difficult position to bring Al Nassr to become the champion of the Saudi Arabian League this season.
Al Nassr is currently in third place in the Saudi Pro League with 60 points. They are still eight points behind Al Ittihad who are at the top of the standings.
With five matches remaining, the maximum number of points that can be obtained is 15 points, Al Nassr must of course be able to collect maximum points in those five matches. In addition, Al Nassr must hope that Al Ittihad and Al Hilal will lose in the remaining matches.
Previously, Al Nassr failed to take advantage of the moment when Al Ittihad lost 0-2 to Al Fateh on April 17. The day after, Al Nassr also fell and lost 1-2 to Al Qadsiah. The difference in points between the two teams failed to narrow to five points.
With this picture, Al Nassr must at least hope that Al Ittihad suffers three defeats in the remaining five matches this season in order to catch up on the points. The best moment is certainly in the 30th week match when Al Nassr meets Al Ittihad directly. The meeting will take place on May 7 local time.
If he fails again, Ronaldo will not escape the spotlight because the mega star has not been able to bring Al Nassr to win the Saudi Arabian League since his arrival 2 seasons ago.
Overall, Ronaldo has only won three domestic titles in the last 13 years. Even if calculated since 2020, Ronaldo has automatically not brought his team to win the league for almost five seasons.
Regarding Al Nassr’s struggle to catch up with Al Ittihad, coach Stefano Pioli is starting to think realistically. He chose not to play Ronaldo in the match against Damac, Tuesday (4/22/2025).
Ronaldo was rested in preparation for the Asian Champions League match. Al Nassr will meet Yokohama Marinos on Saturday (4/26/2025) local time.
