Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes that there are three Man United players who are considered as problematic in the team so they really deserve to be thrown out.
Ferdinand made this statement on the Ferdinand Present podcast. The three players in question are Marcus Rashford, Antony and Tyrell Malacia.
“I think Antony will leave. Someone said to me, Real Betis or somewhere like that. Just get them out! Sorry, no, I’m just being honest,” he said as reported by Mail Online.
“The more people like this are hanging around, where there are only bad voices, they all want to leave, they all love to leave. Let’s just get them out,” said Ferdinand.
Man United continues to slump with coach Ruben Amorim. Most recently, The Red Devils were defeated by Brighton 1-3 in the Premier League, Sunday (19/1/2025). This defeat was the worst start to the season in the club’s 131-year history.
After the defeat to Brighton, the Red Devils’ position in the 2024/2025 Premier League standings is 13th. Therefore Ferdinand said these three players, Antony, Rashford, Malacia must be removed because they gave bad energy.
“You know what it’s like, if there are players who are restless there, not according to plan, they are not happy, it will spread. It’s like bad energy that is cancerous,” said Ferdinand.
Rashford as one of the most senior players at Man United has expressed his desire to move. Rashford’s performance has also declined drastically in recent seasons.
Meanwhile, Antony has been less fortunate since his £86 million move from Ajax in 2023. Antony has only scored 17 goals in 96 matches in three seasons. Antony is rumored to be loaned to Real Betis.
Meanwhile, Malacia, who has just recovered from a long injury for 18 months, has not managed to convince Amorim. Malacia has not been able to convince Ruben Amorim to be the good choice as a left-back.
