Barcelona managed to slaughter the host Villarreal with a landslide score of 5-1 in the matchday 6 of La Liga 2024/2025 which was held at the Estadio de la Ceramica, Sunday (22/9/2024).
Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha became the stars of Barca’s victory by scoring two goals each, the other goal was scored by Pablo Torre. Villarreal had reduced the score thanks to Ayoze Perez’s goal.
Thanks to this result, Barca is increasingly firmly perched at the top of the standings with a perfect 18 points from six matches. Meanwhile, Villarreal is in fifth place with 11 points.
The match had only been going on for eight minutes, Villarreal had scored a goal through Yeremy Pino’s action. However, this goal was finally disallowed by VAR because it had already happened offside.
In fact, it was Barca who were able to open the lead first, precisely in the 20th minute. Receiving Torre’s assist, Lewandowski coolly conquered Villarreal goalkeeper Diego Conde.

Instead of chasing, Villarreal actually got worse after Pablo Torre increased Barca’s lead to 4-1. His hard shot could not be blocked by Conde.
In the 84th minute, Lamine Yamal brilliantly sent a long with a trivela technique. Raphinha then finished it into a goal. The score 5-1 for Barca’s victory was the final result of this match.
