On Monday (26/11), Astralis as one of the best teams in the world again won a championship titled ECS Season 6 Finals after overthrowing the MIBR in the grand final with a score of 16-14 (Inferno) and 22-20 (Over). They also bring home money of US $ 250,000. Interestingly, 3 of the 5 Astralis players were the first CS: GO players to succeed in touching the revenue figure of 14 billion rupiah!
ECS Season 6 is a seasonal tournament held by ECS and FACEIT. This 6th edition tournament presents a fairly large total prize of US $ 660,000. Presenting the 8 best teams from 2 continents, namely Europe and America.
After going through the elimination round, the remaining 2 best teams met in the grand final, namely Astralis and MIBR. This duel between European and American teams is played in 3 selected maps of both teams, namely Inferno and Over. Whereas Mirage will be the determining folder if it is a draw.
First round – Inferno
Map selected by Astralis is arguably the favorite map of both parties. However, MIBR benefits by starting on the CT side, while Astralis starts in the Terrorists camp. Interestingly Astralis managed to claim the first round of the gun, and was able to lead 2-0 initially. MIBR then retaliated by winning an eco situation in the next round. The Danish team had the upper hand by collecting 3 rounds in a row before the MIBR responded with 3 rounds in a row.
MIBR can catch up with the previous one. But goddess Fortuna continued to side with Astralis with an 8-7 advantage at first half as Tero. And after exchanging positions, Astralis won 5 rounds in a row before being rewarded with MIBR dominance. Astralis who have scored 14-10 must be held back with a MIBR victory in important rounds. But in the end Astralis managed to close the first map with a thin score of 16-14.
Second Round – Over
This second map is an optional map from the Brazilian side. Although in their statistics they rarely play this map, the MIBR looks ready in the tactics and the game strategy they prepare.
But after the economy of the MIBR improved, they managed to show their ultimate stance by winning 7 rounds in a row. But the position of the score was returned by the rival, and closing first half for the superiority of MIBR 8-7.
Change of position to the defensive side, which in the statistics is quite profitable. Even though they won the second pistol rode, they were rewarded with the action of Marcelo “Coldzera” David and friends who managed to get 6 rounds in a row without losing. In a superior state of 15-11, the MIBR was actually affected by a choke that made them lose in the next 4 rounds, and made both teams play in the overtime round.
The first overtime was not enough to determine the winner of the ECS Season 6 series, which ended in the second round. Until finally Astralis managed to reach match point, leaving MIBR dying without money. Finally Astralis managed to win the second map with a score of 22-20, while winning this title. In this second map, almost all of the step-up Astralis players delivered trophies to their grasp. Coldzera himself failed to deliver victory to his team despite having recorded 38 kills in the map.
Besides Astralis, the tournament’s Most Valuable Player fell to the star, Nicolai “device” Reedtz who hereby claims his 6th MVP throughout 2018. He recorded an impressive rating in this tournament. He recorded 1.19 ratings, and won several rounds that had a major impact on Astralis’ victory. During ECS Season 6, devices recorded fantastic performance, and were consistent with positive ratings in 9 of their 11 matches.
Astralis again extended its era of victory by winning prestigious titles at the ECS Season 6 Finals.
