Eddie Hearn: “Dillian can face Wilder in June or July” 6e71g

Eddie Hearn on Sunday said WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will not be able to avoid WBC silver heavyweight champion Dillian Whyte this year. The British boxing promoter believed both boxers will receive bigger payments in their fight.

Hearn expects Whyte (23-1, 17 KOs) to be nominated for Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) by the end of the year. The American made his last mandatory defense in November 2017, when he had demolished Bermane Stiverne in less than a round.

“Dillian can face him in June or July or anytime. [Deontay] Wilder may not have a choice if WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman orders the fight. Dillian must be named mandatory aspirant after this performance.” Hearn said.

“We offered him $ 3 million plus money from American television, for a total of about $ 4 million. I heard he had pocketed $ 2.5 million for his last fight against [Luis] Ortiz.

“He will be there to witness the fight between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker next Saturday in Cardiff. We will have a lot of fun.” Hearn added.

Wyhte, who is currently ranked first in the Wilder title, defended his belt for the first time, beating Browne (25-1) in the sixth rounds on Saturday at O2 Arena. He then challenged Wilder by explaining that he was ready to face him as soon as June or July.

“Listen, Deontay Wilder, where are you at? Where are you at Wilder, let’s go, let’s go, let’s go,” Whyte screamed after he knocked down Lucas Browne.

“I’m ready, let’s get it. Deontay, let’s go, no more excuses. Forget Joshua, Joshua’s nothing going to be ready in time. Let’s do this. June, live at the O2, let’s get it. I’m number 1 baby. Let’s go, let’s go.

“A lot of people say this and say that, but when they stand in front of me, different story. The O2 is my home, let’s bring more fights here. Let’s get it. I’m laying all of these guys out, one by one.” Whyte added.

Wilder has always refused the opportunity to challenge Whyte, preferring instead to cross paths with Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) who could add the title of the WBO to those of the WBA and IBF that he already possesses if he beats Parker (24-0, 18 KOs).
